what to expect
Step 1:
onboarding
Whether you’re an engaged couple or small business owner the first step is to inquire through my form here. Once I receive your inquiry, I’ll send the appropriate package and pricing information sheet to help determine all your needs. Then, we’ll set up an onboarding meeting in order to meet (virtually) and get a feel for who you are and what your project looks like.
After this meeting, I’ll send a project proposal, contract and invoice for a 25% deposit. Once that is signed off on and paid, your project will be officially booked and we'll enter the planning stage.
Step 2:
planning
Now, depending on your project things deviate from here. For wedding clients this is where I gather all the details and craft two moodboards to help guide me in the design process. Each moodboard presents a collection of images showing photography, type, color palette, and more as well as thorough explanation on the reasoning behind the style choices.
For freelance clients it’s time to get to the roots for your business. This means identifying some key items such as:
Your values
Target audience
Your vision for the future
Brand voice
Your mission
We will do this through a brand strategy questionnaire followed by a discussion meeting. This foundation is what will allow us to make decisions on where the visual direction should go in order to appeal to the appropriate audience and portray the values and tone of your business.
Wedding Clients
Design & Proofs - This is the tedious part of designing wedding stationery, but it is 100% worth it. I will send preliminary artwork, design proofs and font pairings for you & your partner to approve many, many times throughout this stage. Once things fully come together you’ll receive final proofs to “sign off” on and then we’ll move to the printing stage.
Printing - This is the home stretch: your approved and proof-read invitations will be sent to print. Also at this stage envelopes and add-ons will be ordered. If you chose addressed envelopes this is when I ask for your guest list and set-up the file for the printer.
Quality Control - Once all printed pieces have arrived, I'll look over each card for imperfections, misprints and dings. If there’s no need for reprints, I’ll either assemble your invitation suite, or send them directly to you! Congrats, you can check one more thing off your wedding planning list!
Freelance Clients
Visual Direction - Now that the foundations of your branding have been established, it’s time to use that to guide us to a visual direction. I will craft two moodboards with slightly varied design styles for you to review. A moodboard presents a collection of images showing photography, type, color palette, and more as well as thorough explanation on the reasoning behind the style choices.
You will take these and decide which direction is most appealing to you. One round of revisions is available if there are tweaks needed to a mood board.
Design - It’s time to turn the planning into reality! I will take all the information we’ve gathered and use it to form a suitable visual identity concept. I’ll design all the included elements and present the concept with an explanation of each version and why it would be a suitable option for your business.
After you take some time to reflect on the concept, you’ll send me any feedback and we’ll begin revision rounds as necessary. If you have add-ons in your package, we’ll begin design on these after your standard package is completed so we have the finalized branding to use in the items.
Launch - After receiving final approval on all design elements and processing payment, I will package up and transfer all files to you. I’ll provide your files in a wide range of formats and colors that will be suitable for any web and print formats you might need.
Now you’re ready to show your new branding to the world!
